Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is the name of a Canadian actress. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, which makes her the second youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the enthusiastic and lively character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the award. After an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who moved to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she was a teenager the family relocated from Canadian to United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. Also, she was the lead part as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. She played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
